*Maria’s 4-star review of Fall of Night (Morganville Vampires #14) by Rachel Caine*

7/10

Another solid installment of a highly entertaining (if highly implausible) YA paranormal series. I have been attached to these characters for a couple of years now, and I love starting a new book – it’s like coming home to old friends! This one didn’t give me as much of the things I love most about this series (the interactions between Shane, Michael, Claire, and Eve – the friendship, the bro-mance, the steamy chemistry) because Claire left Morganville, but it was fun to see her trying to deal with life in the “real world” after she has spent years adapting to the constant danger and high adrenaline world of Morganville, and getting everyone out of that tiny fishbowl occasionally helps the series not to feel claustrophobic.

Once again this series provides a fast, easy read with great sarcastic humor and fun action! More than a little suspension of disbelief is necessary…but I’m ok with that. 🙂 And holy cliffhangers!!
