Title: Epic Love
HEATH STRICKLAND, the son of a prominent district attorney, lived his life surrounded by violence and crime. He was an unwilling witness to the corrupt lives his father swore to prosecute and keep behind bars. His escape was his music, which eventually led him to replace the iconic singer of the world famous band, Epic Fail.
NOELLE DURAND lived in luxury, growing up on a sprawling estate, with everything she could ever want or need. Her life, to everyone else, seemed perfect. Perfect house. Perfect things. Perfect family. But nothing at all was perfect. She lived in hell. A hell that nobody on the outside could see.
As a neighbor and childhood friend, Heath would have done anything for Noelle. He would have given up the world to protect her and keep her safe. Their friendship grew into something that neither of them expected. But then she suddenly disappeared, vanishing from his life as if she never existed. He never stopped hoping that one day she would resurface, alive and well. But as time went by, and her family gave up hope, he surrendered his heart to his lost love.
Twelve years later, one phone call changes everything.
EPIC LOVE is the third book in the EPIC FAIL series and can be read as a STANDALONE novel.
This series is a spinoff from the FOREVER FAMILY series.
★ KRYSTLE’S ★ 5 ★ STAR ★ REVIEW! ★
Epic Love is another unbelievably touching and beautiful story by Trudy Stiles. Much like all of her other books, this story brought me on an emotional journey that had me feeling all the feels from the very beginning, gave me goosebumps more than once and even had me holding my breath with anticipation a few different times.
It is no secret that I adore all of the band members of Epic Fail and Heath is certainly no exception to the rule. Although I really didn’t understand him or feel a strong connection to him in the past, Epic Love truly changed that and he just may now be my new favorite.
Like most of her stories, Trudy chose to alternate between past and present and different POVs. The chapters set in the past bring you back to Heath’s childhood and teenage years to show how an innocent childhood friendship can blossom into the most beautiful love story. The glimpses into the past truly enhance the ongoing present journey of Heath working to overcome the pain and guilt caused by a great loss that he just couldn’t shake and that seemed to always come back to haunt him.
Although this story definitely has lots of sad moments, it is also filled with just as many beautiful ones. Between two different back stories and lots of awesome secondary characters, this story has the perfect balance of pain and beauty that keeps you engaged from start to finish.
As I always seem to do with Trudy’s books, I highly recommend this one for anyone looking for a great book to make you feel! This book is part of the Epic Fail series, a spin off of Trudy’s Forever Family series. Although you definitely do not have to start from the beginning, if you have the time to devote to a few books I would highly recommend starting at Dear Emily and going right down the line. They are all amazing and unique stories and I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed. Each story also has subtle nods to characters from other books which enhance your reading experience but will in no way ruin a story for you if you choose to read out of order.
